Actually Odaiba is a large artificial island in Tokyo and Odaiba means basement.

I went to Nikko hotel in Odaiba o pick up our guest in the early morning. it was beaiful morning.
The rainbow bridge is the most beautiful modern bridges in Japan. Decorated with 444 lights which change according to the seasons.

Tofu is made by curdling soybean liquied with a coagulants and contains a lot of high-quality protain.
The Japanese people do not eat as much meat as Western people eat.
But such foods made from soybeans are an important source of protein.
I had a chance to go to Umenohana restaurant that serve only Tofu cuisine.
Japanese old style atomoshere.
Todays menu, - they are changing menu according to season, day and weather.
beautiful color and smooth.
Of course,this is not ceap restaurants, but would like to try this sort of restaurant once a year.

Tanabata festival in Hiratsuka
Tanabata is the Weaver star fesival which occures on July 7.
the Chinese legend,which has it that Altair and Vega were split apart by the two bank of the Milky way.
And come together once a year on this night.
Originally a festival carried out among the Court nobility, it has since Edo period become established among the people at large.
On the night of 6th, the people write thier wishes on paper of various colors and hang themonthe bomboo grass.
On the night of the 7th, they put them out in the garden.
Other side, there are many street stalls at both side of street.
Yakitori - barbecued chicken
Normally, we dont put Kimono on during the daily life.because it is very tricky to put it on.
But we put Yukata on for summer festival.
Yukata is an informal cotton Kimono for summer season.

he Japanese people eat a lot of tuna fish, but the price is increased. Because Taiwanese and Chinese starts to eat tuna fish. The tuna fish is one of the favorite fish and we can get it with cheap price. - Depends on quality -
But we will not able to eat a lot of tuna fish near future.

Nikko tour and Sake brewery
Sake is a fermented alcoholic drink made from rice and can be served either warm or cold.
Sake has been consumed for many centuries in Japan and is served much different religious and social function.
We had opportunity to visit sake brewery during Nikko tour, Nikko is very famous tourist spot in Japan,
Nikko is located north of Tokyo and is famous for Toshogu shrine.The shrine was built in the 17th century and is well known for its extravagantly designed exterior.
There are many sake breweries near the Nikko city, actually near Imaichi city.
We visited one of the very famous Sake breweries - Katayama shujo - ; they are still keeping traditional style fermentation and squeezing system.
American general who is staying Yokosuka came to buy this shops Sake, they dont produce many bottle of Sake, but use good quality water and rice to brew.
Finally, we tasyed various type of Sake.
This sake brewery is well worth visiting.
