A general election was held yesterday,
for all of 480 seats of the lower house of the Diet of Japan.
In the election, the opposition Democratic Party of Japan (DPJ)
defeated the ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP).
The LDP had ruled Japan since its formation in 1955,
except for an 11-month period from 1993 to 1994.
The DPJ received 42.4% of the votes cast,
taking 308 seats to only 119 for the LDP (26.7% of the votes).
DPJ leader Yukio Hatoyama will be the next Prime Minister of Japan;
he is expected to be formally named to the post in September 2009.

A lot of people !!!

Comiket , otherwise known as the Comic Market ,
is the world's largest handmade comic book fair,
held twice a year in Tokyo, Japan.
The first Comiket was held in December 1975,
with only about 32 participating circles and an estimated 600 attendees.
Attendance has since swelled to over a half million people.
As items sold in Comiket are considered very rare,
some items sold at Comiket can be found in shops or on the Internet at prices
up to 10 times the item's original price.

Next Comiket will be held in December.

Do you know the DECO-DEN !?!?
Now it is very cool to use decorated denwa(=mobile phone in Japanese)
for young girls or gyaru in Japanese...
They put rhinestones such as swarovski beads or decorated small parts
shaped sweets or animals on their mobile phones
to make "the only one mobile" in the world.
Basically, the phone should be decorated by themselves,
but recently, some shops handle with decoration as you want
during your shopping in a few hours.

I have been to OKINAWA, which is one of Japan's southern prefectures,
and consists of hundreds of the islands in a chain over 1,000 km long.

Following the Battle of Okinawa and the end of World War II in 1945,
Okinawa was under United States administration for 27 years.
In 1972, the U.S. government returned the islands to Japanese administration.
Under the Treaty of Mutual Cooperation and Security,
the United States Forces Japan (USFJ) have maintained a large military presence.

Because of history and geography,
OKINAWA has so unique culture that even Japanese are eager to go
OKINAWA, adding with EXTREMELY CLEAR BEACH !
