Itinerary
Day 01: Tokyo -(215km)- Matsumoto -(280km)- Takayama
You will be picked up by your guide at your hotel in Tokyo.
By private coach, you will head for the second largerst city in Nagano, Matsumoto.
Matsumoto Castle is one of the most complete and beautiful castles, built on the plain rather than on a hill or mountain.
In the afternoon, enjoy driving with spectacular route through the Japan Alps.
Overnight at hotel in Takayama.
Day 02: Takayama
After breakfast, enjoy Takayama city which has retained a traditional touch like few other Japanese cities, especially in its beautifully preserved old town.
Takayama gained importance as a source of high quality timber and highly skilled carpenters during the feudal ages.
Visit: Morning Market, Old town, Yatai Kaikan, Jinya
Overnight at hotel in Takayama.
Day 03:Takayama -(90km)- Kanazawa -(66km)- Shirakawa-go
After breakfast, by private coach, it takes 2 hours to get Kanazawa, which grew to become a town of great cultural achievements,rivaling Kyoto and Edo (Tokyo), during Edo Period.
Visit:Kenrokuen garden, Ninja-dera temple, Chayagai street
In the afternoon, you will arrive at the Shirakawa-go, in the remote mountains, famaous for their traditional houses, declared a UNESCO world heritage site in 1995. Experience of staying overnight at one of the farmhouses, some of which are more than 250 years old.
Day 04:Shirakawa-go -(295km)- Suwa -(180km)- Tokyo
After breakfast transfer back to Tokyo via Suwa, the small town located in the heart of the Japanese Alps.
You will be dropped off at your hotel inside Tokyo.
