Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium
If you visit Okinawa main island with kids, or you are simply fascinated by the lifeforms from the ocean, the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium is a must-visit. It is the second-largest aquarium in the world and is part of the Ocean Expo Park located in the north-western part of main island Okinawa.
The main tank has a volume of 7,500 cubic meters of water being the largest glass screen in the world with 8.2 meters high by 22.5 meters long and a thickness of 60 centimeters. The biggest attraction is the whale sharks since along with the aquarium in Georgia (USA), Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium is the only aquarium that exhibits this animal.
