Tokyo Tour Description
Cherry blossom viewing is one of the popular activities on a Japan spring tour. We visit many places where you can appreciate the beautiful pink flowers. Not to mention the sightseeing spots such as Shinto shrines or Buddhist temples, you can enjoy old towns and walking on the old trail.
You can enjoy variety of local dishes. In Suwa, we visit a private house and they welcome us with their home-made meals. You will also visit 4 World Heritage Sites of UNESCO.

Japan Spring Tour Itinerary
Day 1 : Airport (Narita or Haneda)-Tokyo
Welcome to Tokyo! You will be greeted by an English-speaking assistant at the airport. The assistant will get you in the bus to your hotel.You can also extend your vacation before / after the tour in Tokyo, Osaka. Please contact us!

Day 2 : Tokyo City Tour
Today, we head out to the Imperial palace. The
Imperial palace is the primary residence of
the Emperor of Japan.
We will visit
Tokyo Skytree, a broadcasting and observation tower with the height of 634 meters (2,080ft). The view of the metropolitan Tokyo area from there will be spectacular. If the sky is clear, the Mt. Fuji can be seen in the distance.
Then we proceed to
Asakusa Sensoji Temple, the Five Storied Pagoda and the traditional Nakamise shopping arcade.
Then drive to
Akihabara area and enjoy Japanese pop culture zone, the electronic district and the mecca for the anime (Japanese cartoon characters).

Day 3 : Free day in Tokyo

Day 4 : Tokyo – Mt Fuji – Suwa
This is the day when we visit the highest peak in Japan,
Mt.Fuji. It is has been appreciated by many Japanese for ages because of its perfect conical shape. Please enjoy magnificent shape from Lake Kawaguchi if weather permitting.
We then head out to Suwa Lake area. Before arriving at the hotel, we visit two historically important places in the area. Takashima Castle was nicknamed floating castle because of the location facing to the lake. Suwa Taisha is a head shrine of 25,000 Suwa Shrines all over Japan.
We stay at the hotel with hot springs for two nights. Let’s enjoy kaiseki dinner at the hotel.

Day 5 : Suwa – Mt Yatsugatake area – Suwa
Today, we visit mountain area to enjoy nature. Yatsugatake is a huge mountain range consists of many peaks. The highest peak is Mt. Akadake which is 2,899m high. You can enjoy the magnificent view of the mountain area.
Today’s dinner is at a private house. They welcome us with local food and hospitality. This is a good opportunity to see how Japanese people live in the traditional house.

Day 6 : Suwa – Nakasendo Trail: Tsumago and Magome – Takayama
In the morning, we drive to Nakasendo. Nakasendo is an old trail constructed 400 years ago by the Tokugawa Shogunate as one of the major routes between Edo (Tokyo now) and Kyoto.
Tsumago is the most well preserved post town in Nakasendo. There used to be 31 accommodations for the travelers going from/to Edo or Kyoto.
Then we go on a 8km’s hike through the forest and rice field. You can see the life style of the local people.
The goal is
Magome post town. Another beautiful post town spreading on the hill, so it has a different atmosphere from Tsumago.
We stay in old charming town, Takayama for two nights.

Day 7 : Takayama – Shirakawago – Takayama
Takayama is surrounded by mountains and also known as ‘Little Kyoto’. We start the day with Morning Market which local farmers come to sell their products. Then to old town Sanmachi, which was developed as a merchant town built in the Edo period, is still prosperous today. We visit Takayama Jinya that is the only remaining local government office of the Edo period.
Then we drive to
Shirakawago. Located around the Sho River in the deep mountains, Shirakawago is a historic village where unique traditional farmhouses have survived. This village is an outstanding example of a traditional way of life perfectly adapted to a cold environment. We can also observe the inside of one of the farmhouses.

Day 8 : Takayama – Nara – Kyoto
In the morning we drive to Nara, the ancient capital of Japan. In
Nara, first we visit
Todaiji Temple and Nara deer park. Todaiji Temple is one of Japan’s most famous Buddhist temples and a World Heritage site. Its Great Buddha Hall, which is one of the world’s largest wooden buildings, houses one of the world’s largest bronze statues of Buddha. Nara park is very famous for its many free-roaming deer. You can feed them specially made crackers. The deer will bow to you to beg for them!
We also visit
Kasuga Taisha Shrine which has thousands of stone lantern along the main approach, before going to Kyoto.

Day 9 : Kyoto
Today we visit
Kyoto which became the capital after Nara in the late 8th century. First we visit
Fushimi Inari Taisha with seemingly endless arcades of vermillion torii gate spread across a thickly wooden mountain.
If you like drinking
sake, you would love to visit our next stop…the sake brewery! The guide gives you a little tour inside followed by tasting.
We can’t miss Kyoto’s most famous highlights,
Kiyomizu Temple and
Kinkakuji Temple known as Golden Pavilion.
In the evening, we will take a stroll around the
Gion geisha district. If you are lucky you can catch a glimpse of a maiko or geisha on her way to the tea house.

Day 10 : Kyoto – Kansai Airport
Time to get back home with unforgettable memory and lots of souvenir. Leaving for Kansai Airport by airport bus. Return by air. Thank you very much for coming to Japan and Sayonara.
