Kyoto Hiking and Riverside Dining Tour (2d/1n)

Kyoto Hiking and Riverside Dining Tour Description

Kyoto is a bustling destination dotted with many must-see sights. After sightseeing at the most famous spots in Kyoto, it is nice to also see a different part of Japan’s old capital city. The northern part of Kyoto is not crowded and you can truly feel the atmosphere of the old days. There is a nice hiking course connecting Kurama Temple and Kifune Shrine.

Kibune is famous for ‘kawadoko‘, the restaurants that are constructed next to the river only for the warmer months. A cozy dinner on the riverside will certainly be an unforgettable experience. Here’s what you can expect from this tour;

1. You can enjoy around 3 hours of hiking on the sacred mountain in Kurama.

2. You can stay at a ryokan (Japanese style inn) in Kibune with a seasonal restaurant on the riverside.

3. You can visit beautiful quiet temples and shrines in the middle of the forest; Kurama Temple, Kibune Shrines, Sanzenin Temple, and Jakkoin Temple.

Feedback From Clients (for other tours)

Highly recommended!
The guide didn’t only tell us a lot about the history of Japan but she also told us a lot about Japanese customs and culture. We used the knowledge we gained during the tour throughout the rest of our trip in Japan, it is very useful to do a private tour at the start of your holiday so that the rest of your trip becomes a lot smoother.

Very interesting bicycle tour through Tokyo
The day after we arrived we did a bicycle tour through Tokyo with a very pleasant guide. She told us a lot during the tour and was very helpful in giving tips for the rest of the day. The tour was varied, with a bunch of different sights in a short period of time. It was also interesting to receive background explanation from someone with a non-Japanese background in addition to the Japanese guides we had during the rest of our stay as it gave a different perspective on past and current events. This was a great tour!
